Frequently Asked Questions

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, practical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labour, and birth. While I do not provide medical care, I offer reassurance, comfort measures, and evidence-based guidance so you feel calm, informed, and supported throughout your experience. Research shows that continuous support during labour is associated with more positive birth experiences and improved outcomes for many women.

A postpartum doula provides non-medical support to families in the postpartum period. This includes physical, emotional and informational support to help ease the transition into life with a new baby as well as guidance and care to assist in the mother's recovery after birth.

It's ideal to book a doula early in pregnancy to ensure availability, but I also accept bookings later on when possible.

For birth support packages, we can schedule our first antenatal visit as soon as you’d like. For postpartum support packages, the first few visits can be very flexible. We can stay in contact when baby arrives to figure out what will work best for your specific circumstances.

I offer support with newborn care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, birth debriefing, emotional support for parents, light household tasks, adjustments to new family dynamics, referrals to additional resources as needed, and much more. The care I provide differs from family to family as I aim to meet their unique needs.

Initially, I offer a complementary phone call to discuss my service and your needs. Once we are both happy to proceed with a package of your choosing, you will then have:

Antenatal visits to prepare for birth
On-call from 37 weeks for labour support day or night
Birth attendance
Postnatal visits

The number of visits and other additional supports offered depends on the package you choose.

Every family is different. Some hire me for just a few weeks, while others may want support for several months. I offer flexible scheduling based on your needs.

Yes. I offer virtual support sessions for families who prefer remote guidance or live outside my service area.

You can book certain sessions directly though my website. For bespoke sessions or in-person support packages, I offer a free consultation call to discuss your needs and how I can support your family. You can get in touch to arrange this via the contact form on my website, or please feel free to call/email me directly.
